Do I tip the guide?

Yes! Our guides love what they do, but rent in this city is expensive :). Tipping is customary in the U.S. service industry and is an important component of guides’ compensation. The tip amount is at your discretion, but as a rough guide, consider giving 10-15%.

Is it safe to ride the Streets of San Francisco?

We take safety very seriously. Our tours take you on San Francisco’s safest bike lanes, bike routes, and quiet streets. We provide safety instructions before each tour. Helmets are mandatory.

Are the tours hilly?

We have created routes which navigate around rather than over San Francisco’s infamous hills. As a result, the terrain is very gentle. See our Tours page for more details.

Do any of your tours go over the Golden Gate Bridge?

Our tours do not go over the bridge. It is a lovely ride, but very easy to do on one’s own. Our tours focus on the the city itself, its history, culture, and neighborhoods. If you’d like to ride over the bridge, we recommend taking one of our tours, then renting a bike from us (at a 30% discount) and riding over the bridge on your own. By taking a tour, you’ll become very comfortable riding in SF, and you’ll have no problems at all navigating to and over the bridge.

Where do your tours start?

Our Heart of the City and Majestic Electric tours start and finish at 1816 Haight Street. Our Golden Gate Bridge Sausalito tour start at 425 Jefferson. See our Location page for a map, and information about getting there.
